Yes, I know I said I wouldn’t post anymore on this blog website and here I am posting for a second time. Adventures has realized the new blog platform isn’t ideal so they’re trying to find solutions. Until then I will be posting back here. Sorry for all confusion and hopefully it’s never mind (Most Khmer people say that instead of saying it’s okay, I don’t mind, and what feels like a slew of other uses I don’t understand half the time).
So what has the last week looked like for me? Well— It’s been a lot of all over. From a completely wasted man trying to kiss me, to meeting Swedish missionaries randomly and getting invited to a bible study they only have like twice a month. Well, Monday and Tuesday were just normal Ministry teaching English and talking to local church members. Wednesday we got in a car and drove to a close city around 30 minutes from Preah Netr Preah called Sisophon to help with another school for a couple of days. I got to help teach preschool and all my team members had their own classes, then we got invited for a bible study, and afterward, My team leader wanted to talk to someone he already met who wanted to know more about God and I joined. While talking to this high school senior for a while the wasted man came by yelling some words then calmed down a little bit and sat down next to me on a bench he grabbed my chin and I kind of just pulled my head back then he grabbed both sides of my head and just slowing leaned towards my face for what I could only assume was a kiss. The next day we just taught at the school and on the last day we talked to this kid again he brought his friend who also wanted to know more about Christianity and her dad used to work at a Christian NGO (I don’t know what NGO stand for be they are non-profit organizations). Finally, how can you be praying for us first and foremost for the relationships that we have built here. We are about to leave to go back to Siem Reap and I hope we aren’t the last time these people talk to or see what christ looks like and for seeds that we have planted in Twi, Len, Lucas, Sokam, and Soheng to be protected; Second is just for provision if I’m supposed to be here and not to worry/focus on money to much; Pray for protection against illness and injury for our team, Pray for growth as it is most likely our last week before our squad meets up again and pray that we just get the most out of this last little bit of time. Finally, just pray for continued growth even when I hit a dry patch or a dessert season so that I don’t run away from being uncomfortable but lean into the growth waiting for me in that vulnerability and that discomfort.
P.S. If you feel called to donate even as little as a penny you can donate at this link and it’s tax deducible or you can give to me directly on Venmo @Isaiah-Suarez-29 No pressure though it’s not for everyone.
